Email RNS — One of the grossest aspects of social media is that it turns every celebrity death into a springboard to blog about our own personal feelings. In many ways, both men objectified women, but I honestly think Trump was worse about it. Speaking of his daughter: If you believe the objectification and sexualization of women are bad for society, then why would Trump be your candidate?
The only difference I can see between Christian treatment of the two men is that Trump persuaded white evangelicals to vouch for his character. What mattered to a whole bunch of white evangelicals in the end was that some of their most well-placed leaders assured them that actually Trump was repentant and that actually Trump was a baby Christian and that actually Trump was forgiven for his many, many sexual perversities because God forgives people.
As a Christian dating site we believe that marriage is a sacred covenant between man and woman, ordained by God as part of His divine plan for each of us. So there’s more to it .
Covenant theology Reformed theologians use the concept of covenant to describe the way God enters fellowship with people in history. The terms of the covenant are that God provides a blessed life in the garden on condition that Adam and Eve obey God’s law perfectly. Because Adam and Eve broke the covenant by eating the forbidden fruit , they became subject to death and were banished from the garden. This sin was passed down to all mankind because all people are said to be in Adam as a covenantal or “federal” head.
Federal theologians usually infer that Adam and Eve would have gained immortality had they obeyed perfectly. In it, God graciously offers salvation from death on condition of faith in God. This covenant is administered in different ways throughout the Old and New Testaments, but retains the substance of being free of a requirement of perfect obedience. Barth saw the covenant of works as disconnected from Christ and the gospel, and rejected the idea that God works with people in this way.
Instead, Barth argued that God always interacts with people under the covenant of grace, and that the covenant of grace is free of all conditions whatsoever. Barth’s theology and that which follows him has been called “monocovenantal” as opposed to the “bi-covenantal” scheme of classical federal theology. Michael Horton , however, has defended the covenant of works as combining principles of law and love.
God in Christianity and Trinity For the most part, the Reformed tradition did not modify the medieval consensus on the doctrine of God. God is affirmed to be one God in three persons: Father , Son , and Holy Spirit.

May 5, I. Bob Jones officials said they were taking the step after watching the pedophilia scandal unfold at Pennsylvania State University the previous year. When Anderson and her mother told their pastor, Bob Jones graduate Chuck Phelps, what had happened, Phelps had Anderson stand before the congregation while he read a confession of her pregnancy. She was then sent to a family in Colorado until the baby was born and given up for adoption. The captions are adapted from a longer piece he wrote on the trip over at his website.
Next Can a non-believer marry an Evangelical Christian? I have been dating my girlfriend for several years now, and we have a great relationship. She is an Evangelical Christian, and I, while having been raised as a Christian and a Jew, am not religious. We talk about religion occasionally, and our own beliefs and faiths regularly, and it has never caused a problem We talk about religion occasionally, and our own beliefs and faiths regularly, and it has never caused a problem before.
It has never bothered me that we don’t believe the same thing, and it doesn’t bother her. I have always respected her beliefs, as she has respected mine. She doesn’t ask me to go to Church with her, and I help her celebrate Christian holidays, and we agreed on, and have kept to, no sex before marriage. But now that we have been dating for a long time, I’m interested in marriage.
I know from previous discussions that she doesn’t want to marry someone ‘who isn’t in the same place spiritually as her, or isn’t an evangelical. We have never openly talked about the issue. But I would like the chance to marry the woman I love. My question is, should I talk to her?

At the time I met him, my husband attended a non-evangelical church. I served as a catalyst to him strengthening his Christian walk. Before we got married, he re-dedicated his life to Jesus and started attending an evangelical church. He is now totally on fire for Jesus. The moral of the story is that you need to be flexible, ladies. There are men who are saved who attend non-evangelical churches.
I was breaking the one rule they persistently drill into young evangelical girls (aside from no front hugs) — do not date non-Christian men.
Mar 23, Scott Croft Looking for a completely countercultural path to marriage? Here’s how to apply God’s Word to dating, finding a spouse and getting married. The system today’s young men and women have inherited for finding and marrying a future spouse leaves a lot to be desired. We often hear complaints from readers about the confusion, hurt and sexual sin they’ve encountered despite their best intentions. Many want to know how they can go about getting to know someone and eventually getting married without getting hurt or compromising their faith.
At Focus on the Family, we’ve offered a range of resources and expert advice bringing biblical principles to bear in this area. Some of the messages we’ve presented have taken the position that Christians can apply their faith in such a way that they can still work within the system they’ve inherited. Other messages have stressed that Christians need to be much more counter-cultural. Joshua Harris, for instance, has promoted a model of courtship that harkens back to a model used broadly before modern dating evolved.
People attempting to follow a courtship model within today’s culture, however, often run into a lot of practical questions, such as, “What if her dad is unavailable or uninterested in being involved?

Introduction This Taxonomy answers 2 questions: Why do thousands of people around the world, who are not Molokan by faith, many despising Molokane, falsely claim to be Molokane? If not Molokane, what and who are they? Neither question has been asked, nor answered, before this simple Taxonomy.

Part 3 What does the word “apologetics” mean? The word “apologetics” is derived from the ancient Greek word apologia, which means, an apology. Not an apology in the modern sense of the word – which is to say you’re sorry for something. But rather, an apology in the ancient sense of the word – which is to make a reasoned defense of something or someone. In ancient times, the word apology referred to the case a lawyer would make on behalf of his client.
Apologetics is about building the case for our Faith Basically, there are 3 types of apologetics: Natural apologetics builds the case for truths we can know from the “natural” light of reason. Truths that can be known without any divine intervention.
Roy Moore’s alleged pursuit of a young girl is the symptom of a larger problem in evangelical circles By Kathryn Brightbill Nov 10, 4: He pursued a year-old-girl without first getting her parents’ permission, and he initiated sexual contact outside of marriage. That segment is evangelicalism. In that world, which Moore travels in and I grew up in, year-old girls courting adult men isn’t uncommon.

As you know, there are some Christians who believe that any dating is inappropriate. I think we can all agree that the Bible forbids the Christian from marrying an unbeliever. This.
I consider myself a sympathetic outsider to conservative Evangelicals — a fellow traveler, you might say. Recently, one of those friends — a plugged-in Millennial — has been telling me that he expects most of American Evangelicalism eventually to abandon Christian orthodoxy on LGBT issues. His basic argument runs similar to the kind of argument you hear from conservative Catholics regarding a particular fault of Evangelicalism: The fact that Catholicism and Orthodoxy both have very strong ecclesiologies has not prevented most US Catholics and US Orthodox Christians from being far more liberal than average Americans are on LGBT matters, in contradiction to what both churches teach.
Their ecclesiology has not protected the flock from abandoning orthodox Christian truth on this matter. It turns out that figures like Hatmaker, a laywoman, have influence over more Evangelicals than do some pretty well known figures.
